Job Purpose:

The Reconciliation Officer is responsible for balancing and reconciling cash advances through channels such as cash pay points (CPP), ATMs, etc.

What are the key job responsibilities of a Reconciliation Officer at the South African Postbank SOC Limited?

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Reconciliation of advances, re-banks, and transactions
  • Transferring items on SAP
  • Preparing and capturing Journals
  • Resolving and following up on cash discrepancies
  • Clearing transactions on SAP
  • Balancing clearing accounts by resolving open items
  • Reporting system issues
  • Checking the upload of reports and reporting outstanding reports
  • Comparing systems to verify/identify differences
What qualifications are required to be considered for the position of Reconciliation Officer at the SA Postbank?
  • Diploma (NQF 5) in accountancy or equivalent
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Accountancy or equivalent will be an advantage
  • At least 2 years of financial or banking experience in a similar role
What knowledge and skills are necessary for Reconciliation Officer at the South African Postbank SOC Limited?

Knowledge:

  • Clearing of accounts and reconciliation of trial balance
  • SAP experience
