Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • National Senior Certificate
  • PSIRA Grade C registration with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a high-risk security environment
  • Firearm competency certificate issued by the SAPS (as per the Firearm Control Act, Act 60 of 2000) for handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle, or carbine
  • Self-assured with well-disciplined approach and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a team and be results-oriented, willing to work shifts
  • Successful completion of pre-employment psychological screening assessment
  • Screening and verification process, as well as credit and criminal record checks
  • Physical and functional fitness for the position and environment, as determined by a Physical and Functional Work Capacity (PFWC) assessment
Advantageous Qualification:
  • Crowd control management, tactical firearm, defense and restraint techniques, advance driving skills certificates
  • Certified competence in the handling and use of firearms for business purposes (handgun, shotgun, self-loading rifle, or carbine)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the protection of Sibanye-Stillwater resources through access control, guarding, observation, and patrolling
  • Inspect buildings and infrastructure for security, addressing identified risks
  • Execute access control procedures and verify identity and employee status
  • Perform random and dedicated patrols on foot or in a vehicle as required
  • Facilitate crowd management when required, providing a first-line reaction to incidents
  • Provide professional security presence and control access to premises
  • Conduct searches upon access and egress
  • Report suspicious behaviors, problem areas, and security incidents
  • Use the SPS Crime Administration system (CiMMS) to record observations and actions
